Book: Racial Justice and Nonviolence Education:
The presentation was based on the book "Racial Justice and Nonviolence Education" By Arthur Romano, looks at how local educators in cities affected by violence contribute to MLK's nonviolent vision. It suggests that teaching nonviolence can help communities break the cycle of violence. The focus is on informal education outside schools, using the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence as an example. The book shares stories of educators, their successes and failures, and analyzes six nonviolence principles. It's useful for students of conflict resolution, race studies, politics, and education, as well as practitioners in the field.
