We are identifying needs that will be created by the extreme poverty left in the wake of the conflict...
Need Construction materials, especially roofing -- there is widespread destruction of civilian structures...
Need Power generators to take inside Ukraine - apparently the grid starts failing in places...
Conditions are not stable, one van has been damaged by gun firer. another old van has been purchased. Runs in one direction are carrying people and in the other medical supplies.
We just made a purchase of requested meds, they will be hand carried, with major shipment to follow. They are bound for Mukchevo, where our in country teams is providing aid.
At the moment , the price for 1 liter of gasoline is $1.3 and diesel $1.18, for 1m3 of gas $0.5. Every day more than $2,500 is spent on fuel.
Our team has transported more than 1000 people from the border, helping to get to friends and acquaintances in Moldova and Romania.
More than 50 refugees live daily at the Retreat Center in the village of Malaeshty, the stay of each of them costs $ 10 per day (utilities, food, communications, personal hygiene products, medicines).
Every day, more than 100 people work at the Palanka customs checkpoint, helping with transportation, hot food and determining the place of accommodation and stay of refugees.
Every day we wind more than 13,000 thousand kilometers, on average, this is 1,400 liters of fuel, which sometimes rises in price 2 times a day.
They rest after a long way and before a long day. From 5 miles on foot with children in their arms, huge queues from 5 to 18 hours in order to cross the border.
